A utility main contractor have an opportunity for an Operations Manager to join their business working on water projects in Kent and East Sussex. The position offers the successful candidate the chance to work on a reactive framework which has over a year to run with a likely extension of a further five years.

The Role
Reporting to the Contracts Manger the role is to drive continuous efficient delivery of site activities, ensure the most appropriate, safe and cost effective construction methods are used and to ensure that the appropriate resources. The role will require a significant amount of client liaison as well as managing and providing leadership to the the site management team.
Duties will include:
Assisting estimators in identifying most efficient construction methods for tenders
Maintaining a watching brief across all sites from a safety, quality, environmental and customer perspective and highlight any issues to site management, Contracts Managers and/or Directors as appropriate
Helping to ensure compliance with legal and corporate standards
Maintaining dialogue between site operatives and Directors
Assist in the recruitment of new employees and succession planning.

Experience Required
Suitable candidates will be able to demonstrate significant experience of civil engineering work, including deep drainage and utility work.
You will have worked in a similar role or as a Site Agent within the utility sector.
CSCS Managers Card
NRSWA Supervisor or Operative is desirable.
