Description

As part of their planned growth a tier one civil engineering contractor are seeking to appoint a Cost Manager to compliment their team in near Watford.
The business are firmly established in the water sector and undertake a wide range of civil engineering projects within it.
They operate a number of lucrative long term frameworks as well as special projects which allows them solid long term visibility of work.

The Role
Reporting to the Commercial Manager the Cost Manager will maintain a day-to-day working relationship with a number if operational leads and be responsible for accurately allocating costs.
Day to day duties will include:
Establishing with the commercial lead of an appropriate work breakdown structure for the contract.
Reviewing and analysing costs against turnover
Identifying incorrect cost allocation and resolving any process breakdowns leading to the incorrect allocation of costs.
Identifying cost trends against budgets and actively identifying areas for analysis
Production of cost reports
Review sub-contractor costs through out the project life cycle
Provide support the the Quantity Surveyors during CVR, forecasting and budgeting.

Experience Required
Suitable applicants will be educated to HNC / BSc Quantity Surveying or similar and will be able to demonstrate similar experience working on civil engineering or utility frameworks.
Applications are welcome from both experienced Cost Manager and less experienced commercial staff seeking an office based analytical role.
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is essential.
