We are seeking to recruit a Principal Process Engineer with extensive knowledge and experience in the design and operation of UK clean water facilities.
As Principal Process Engineer you will be one of our clients leading specialists in clean water process optimisation and design. You will report to the Chief Process Engineer (Water) and you will lead on process engineering input to clean water schemes for major projects for Northern UK clients.
What you will be doing:
- Process engineering design and optimisation services for clean water projects as part of a collaborative multi-disciplined project delivery team.
- Growing the capability and product offering of process engineering services to the water sector, developing innovative process-led solutions on our clients existing frameworks and capital programmes.
- Leading optimisation studies at feasibility and concept design stages, with accountability for quality, budget and schedule.
- Development of process optimisation schemes, initiatives, and solutions at both site and programme level. These schemes will mitigate risk, return sites to compliance, or enable low or no build solutions to be provided for new permit drivers
- Technical assurance and support to process engineers working on clean water projects.
- Supporting internal business development directors to develop opportunities for asset optimisation services.
- Providing technical thought leadership and strategic consultancy advice to clients and joint venture partners.
- Ensuring that assigned staff have the necessary technical skills and experience.
- A degree qualification in a process engineering related discipline is essential.
- Chartered Engineer preferred and member of a relevant engineering institution.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the municipal water sector.
- A background in an engineering consultancy or contracting design environment.
- Good knowledge and experience in the design, operation and optimisation of waste water treatment plants is essential.
- Knowledge and experience in water treatment and bio-solids recycling plants would be beneficial.
- A sound appreciation of regulation and compliance principles in wastewater treatment would be beneficial.
- An understanding of technical risk and opportunity.
