Description

As part of an exciting change in strategy and approach an opportunity for an experienced Programme Director has become available working for a prominent water authority in the South East of England. The company are responsible for clean and waste water networks and assets across Sussex and parts of Kent. This is a pivotal role in which the appointed Programme Director will be responsible for facilitating the effective delivery a portfolio of significant strategic projects unique in the UK.
The programme includes a range of major infrastructure projects, asset interventions, commercial agreements and activities that span across customers and maintenance activities. Ensuring high levels of stakeholder engagement, inspirational leadership and outcome delivery focus it will be essential that you do this collaboratively across the multiple teams, stakeholders and regulators engaged in the programme.

The Role
Reporting to the Director of Strategy the Programme Director will have overall responsibility for strategic programme whilst ensuring high quality engagement and communication is in place across stakeholders, customers and regulators.
To ensure this carried out efficiently responsibilities will include:
Challenging existing practices and identify efficiencies in working, in order to accelerate the programme and deliver to cost and quality.
Developing collaborative behaviours across the various Engineers, Project Managers, Delivery Partners, Contractors, Consultants, Legal Teams and all Project Stakeholders
Identification, monitoring and managing all risks and taking responsibility for personal and team compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental Policies

Experience Required
Suitable applicants will be educated to degree level and will be able to demonstrate significant experience of delivering major strategic infrastructure programmes.
The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate a thorough understanding of project management techniques on large and complex projects along with the ability to develop and lead improvements in relation to governance, process and procedures. Significant experience in stakeholder, contract and procurement management is essential as are high level strategic planning and organisational skills.
