Description
An opportunity for a procurement assistant has become available with a leading civil engineering contractor in Kent. The company is privately owned and over the past five years have enjoyed significant growth through repeat business from their clients. Current live projects include civils packages for HS2, multi schemes for major developers across London, highways schemes and data centres throughout Europe.
The Roe
Reporting to the head of procurement responsibilities will include:
Issuing tender enquiries as necessary and progress the return of supplier quotations.
Liaise with operations to fulfil their day-to-day procurement requirements.
Ensuring that procurement is carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Create purchase orders and ensure that all materials purchased are of appropriate quality and price and are delivered in a timely manner.
Update relevant staff about the status of their request and delivery and maintain regular contact with supervisor on matters of procurement.
Maintain supplier Service Level Agreements, inc. price lists and Framework agreements on the internal database.
Experience Required
Suitable candidates will ideally have some experience working within an office environment within the construction sector.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to prioritise and plan ahead is essential as is the ability to work to strict deadlines under pressure.
A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and a driving licence is essential.
