The Role
Reporting to the Design Director the Design Manager's responsibilities will include:
Management of the design process in order to develop a design compliant with all contract requirements and in the most cost effective way in order to deliver the project on time, within budget
Leading the full design and coordination process from Commercial Transfer to Practical completion of the project.
Supporting the procurement and construction teams in order to deliver the project.
Ensure design output corresponds with design input
Review the content of each design package with designer and production team
Plan the design tasks in line with procurement and construction strategies
Review the content of each design package with designer and production team
Monitor the performance of the design progress, budgets, quality against objectives and take all required actions.
Organise and participate in design reviews .
Is responsible to Liaise between Clients, Consultants and the project staff for design matters.
Design Manager will ensure Design Coordination of the overall Consultants Design and Subcontractors.
Experience Required
Suitable Design Manager will be able to demonstrate significant experience working on major construction projects • Experience managing commercial design projects.
Experience working under JCT Design & Build contract
Experience using Asta PowerProject and ViewPoint For Projects
Clear understanding of Commercial aspects of development - Working closely alongside Commercial and Construction Teams.
Excellent communication and organisational skills
The Design Manager will have clear knowledge of the design process, at delivery design stage with a Main Contractor and have the ability to manage consultants scope and budgets
