Description

As part of an increase in allocated project on their framework a tier one civil engineering contractor are seeking to appoint a Managing Quantity Surveyor in South London.
This presents a great opportunity for an ambitious MQS to progress quickly to assume overall autonomy for the commercial team.
The business are enjoying a period of continued growth, the framework has two years to run and is likely likely to be rewarded a further five year extension.

The Role
Initially reporting to the Commercial Manager you will manage a team of five Quantity Surveyors.
Project work is a mixture of minor and major utility schemes including planned and reactive maintenance and developer services.
The framework is administered under NEC Conditions, you will work closely with the Project Managers and responsibilities will include:
Carrying out Value Engineering
Cost Forecasting
Sub-contract procurement
Change Management

Experience Required
Suitable Quantity Surveyors will be educated to BSc Quantity Surveying and be able to demonstrate a stable career history working on civil engineering, infrastructure or utility projects in the UK. This could suit Senior QS looking to step up to Managing QS.
You will be well versed with NEC contracts and be looking to push your career forward to Commercial Manager level.
