Location: Peterborough (Hybrid Working)
Salary: Up to £85,000 + Comprehensive Package

Procurement Manager | Construction | Civil Engineering | Infrastructure | Water
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Procurement Manager to join a leading Tier 1 civil engineering contractor delivering major infrastructure projects across the UK.

Based in Peterborough, you'll play a key role in developing procurement strategies, managing strategic supplier relationships and supporting the successful delivery of complex civil engineering and infrastructure schemes.

Working closely with commercial, operational and pre-construction teams, you'll ensure projects are supported by a high-performing supply chain, delivering best value while maintaining quality, programme and commercial objectives.

This role would suit an experienced Procurement Manager, Senior Buyer or Supply Chain Manager looking to join a well-established contractor that offers long-term career progression, a collaborative culture and the opportunity to work on nationally significant infrastructure projects.

The Role
As Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for:

Developing procurement and supply chain strategies for major construction and infrastructure projects.
Leading the procurement of subcontract packages and key construction materials.
Building and managing strategic relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
Supporting tender and pre-construction teams with procurement strategies, commercial input and value engineering opportunities.
Identifying opportunities to improve supply chain performance, reduce costs and deliver best value.
Monitoring supplier performance through spend analysis and performance reviews.
Ensuring procurement activities comply with company governance and best practice.
Working collaboratively with commercial, operational and project teams to support successful project delivery.
Driving continuous improvement across procurement processes and supply chain performance.
About You
You'll have:

Experience as a Procurement Manager, Senior Buyer or Supply Chain Manager within the construction, civil engineering or infrastructure sectors.
Strong experience procuring subcontract packages and construction materials.
Excellent negotiation, supplier management and stakeholder engagement skills.
Experience supporting both tender and live project delivery.
Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify value engineering opportunities.
Excellent analytical, planning and organisational skills.
Previous experience within the water or utilities sector would be highly desirable, although candidates from the wider civil engineering and infrastructure sectors are encouraged to apply.
