Description

An opportunity has become available for a Senior Commercial Manager to work on a new nuclear energy facility. The Senior Commercial Manager will lead a team and oversee procurement, supply chain management, risk management, and financial reporting on a section of this landmark project.
The role can be carried out on a hybrid working basis, with 1 – 2 days per week in the office-based Central London.

The Role

• Key responsibilities will include;
• Providing commercial input to Value Engineering reviews for alternative methods of construction. To support the preparation of outturn costs for sections or major elements of the works.
• Manage the preparation of the monthly performance reports. To manage the preparation and review of Earned Value data.
• Support the formulation of management plans for resource procurement.
• Representation of the financial and contractual interests of the Civil Works in progress meetings.
• Briefing on the commercial terms of the PAA, including the change process, key risks, and obligations.
• Ensure the supply chain contracts for a specific section of the works are managed following the agreed terms.
• Ensure change management is administered per the agreed contract terms
• Manage subcontract and supply chain packages to minimise disputes.
• Highlight and report any areas/issues of potential supply chain disputes.

Experience Required

• Senior Commercial Managers will be able to demonstrate a proven track record working at the Senior Commercial Manager level with main contractors on civil engineering projects; experience working on nuclear energy projects will be advantageous.
• Qualified to BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying
• Member or Fellow of RICS, ICES or CIOB desirable
• Up-to-date knowledge of legislation and its application to construction projects
• Understanding of dispute resolution methods, structures, and the SCL Protocol.
• Application of legislation and the ability to liaise with legal experts.
• Excellent working knowledge of the NEC suite of contracts
• First-class interpersonal and communication skills for representation in meetings.
