Description
The current work is scheduled to run to 2030 and consists of civil engineering capital projects in the water sector. Projects range from £10M-£30M in value and are administered under NEC conditions.
This is a newly created role as a result of significant, recently awarded tender, the role presents the Senior Quantity Surveyor the opportunity to join a world class organisation with renowned training and career development programmes and the chance to develop a rewarding long-term career.
Key Responsibilities
-Lead and develop the effective management and issue of accurate, timely and compliant notices and correspondence and ensure the compliance of all contractual activities on the project
-Ensure contractual and commercial risks and opportunities are identified to the Project
-Maintain registers of variations, delay, extension times and claims, effective and consistent implementation of the Company's commercial policies and procedures
-Assist with preparation of monthly progress valuations and claim for work completed
-Produce pre-Contract tender negotiations & reports where necessary
-Produce monthly cost reports, forecasts, and Contract Budget reports
-Review value management / value engineering exercises
-Advise on Risk management & participate in Risk workshop
-Produce and monitor Commercial / Contractual correspondence and issues to reflect best practice
-Manage subcontracts from initial placement of order to final account
-Monitor and update Procurement Plan, Sub-contract procurement including analysing commercial comparisons
-Reconcile weekly plant, material, labour reconciliation against budget
-Monitor main contract- including assisting with and producing Change Reports, Value Change Report
Experienced/Qualifications required Required
-Experienced in delivering large scale projects incl civil, mechanical, infrastructure and non-infrastructure type work
-Adaptable to the changing methodology of commercial management with the creation of new digital reporting requirements
-Proactive about new ways of working, problem solving and continuous improvement
-Able to lead by example and develop their team’s skills and experience
-Confident dealing with stakeholders from different disciplines to establish complete commercial understanding
-Confident to challenge the wider project team’s view on scope and hold them accountable for deliverables
-Hold or be nearing completion of Full Membership with RICS / CIECS
