Description
The Plant and Equipment Hire Buyer will provide support to the Operations and Commercial team in managing all aspects of Plant and Equipment procurement, ensuring hire spend is managed and governance is in place to ensure best value for money.
Working in a fast paced environment the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a hybrid working basis.
The Role
Reporting to the Procurement Manager and Commercial Manager the Plant & Equipment Hire Buyer responsibilities will include:
- Liaising with colleagues to ensure Plant Hire procurement schedules are in place Assist with hired Plant and Equipment ensuring that accurate records are kept up to date; including delivery league times etc
- Management of tender events to maximise best value for money procurement T
- he production and maintenance of and supply chain data and register to ensure insurance and certificates are up to date.
- Ensure all areas of responsibility are a business in control of Risk, Opportunity & Innovation through proactive involvement procurement forecast plan.
- Suitable applicants will have no less than three years experience of Procurement Plant Hire Management within the construction sector
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Office 365 A proven track record of negotiation best value combined with strong commercial awareness
- First class communication skills
