The role is permanent, hybrid working with 2 day working in the office.
OSISoft PI support for the Situational Awareness programme/systems and other PI related projects and applications are delivered and maintained to the highest standards.
The Role
• Implement new business application software, capturing end user requirements and configuring, testing and integrating as necessary.
• Implement new releases of existing business application software, capturing end user requirements and configuring, testing and integrating as necessary.
• Provide 2nd line support (L2-4 as applicable) for business applications under role scope • Produce specifications and designs for application and its components to meet defined business needs, retaining compatibility with enterprise and solution architectures.
• Develop, implement, and report the findings of suitable test schedules to measure and improve the quality of application solutions being deployed, to ensure that new and amended systems, configurations, packages, or services, together with any interfaces, perform as specified.
• Integrate and test components and/or subsystems and their interfaces in order to create operational services.
• Liaise IT service desk to facilitate robust service support for new and upgraded application solutions.
• Facilitate productive relationships with and between key stakeholders, during the Planning management and implementation of business change, as applicable.
• Ensure that project and business application support documentation is maintained.
• Coordinate the work of suppliers and contractors during the development, testing and implementation of new or upgraded business modules or solutions.
• Provide estimates for scope of works and associated resourcing requirements for project planning purposes.
• Identify project related risks and escalate project issues in a timely manner • Own the responsibility for unit testing (With external parties as needed) • Follow the agreed architecture, design patterns and the software development methodology. Develop and deliver programs as per the requirements and coding guidelines with minimal supervision, & within the budget and timeframe.
Experience and qualifications required:
• Working experience with OSISOFT PI system
• PI Server Data Archive and Tags: setup, configuration and troubleshooting
• PI Server AF: setup, configuration (data organisation, tags-attributes, identities, groups, users), troubleshooting
• Experience working with events, alarms templates creation
• Experience working with trends, calculations and compression algorithms
• PI Server and client installation/setup
• PI Interface and PI Connectors installation and configuration
• Design and operation using PI Datalink, PI
• Process book, PI Vision
• Understanding of PLC, DCS, SCADA, HMI and relay logic-based control systems
• Familiarity with PI UFL and RDBMS interface types
• Working with and checking compliance with IEC, BSI and ISO requirements
• Good knowledge of MS Office
• Programming using: Ladder logic, STL (Statement List) , FB (Function Blocks) and SFC
• (Sequential function chart) • Industrial automation & communications troubleshooting, testing
• SCADA and HMI systems configuration (mimics, alarms, logs, communications etc.)
• Understanding of EtherNet/IP, MODBUS, DNP3, WITS and MODBUS TCP/IP protocols
• Knowledge of the PI Web API • Understanding of OPC DA and OPC UA protocols
• PI databases interfacing and database editor
• Development with PI SDKs
• RTU (remote terminal unit) and telemetry outstations communications
• Use and configuration of Servelec Prism and Scope, ClearSCADA (ViewX)
• Computer programming: Java, Python, HTML, VBA script for Office Application, SQL
• Understanding of Cybersecurity for OT systems and Cybersecurity Risk Assessments
• Understanding of EEMUA Publication 191
