Description

As part of their strategy to drive continuous improvement a major water authority have an opportunity for a Standards Engineer to complement their team.
The scope of the role will be to deliver a proactive asset maintenance standard review by applying Asset Lifecycle procedures to drive continuous improvement and innovation to take advantage of industry best practice to support improved asset performance..

The role
The Standards Engineer will engage with key stakeholders maintaining a collaborative approach and deliver clear communication to gain support for standards for both completion and quality .
Responsibilities will include the following:
Analysis of performance data to target improvements to correct negative trends and target areas that will result in significant business benefits.
Identification of the asset failure modes and root cause by qualitative and quantitate analyses to establish effective maintenance interventions
Carry out field investigations using a methodical approach to establish root cause and identify necessary solutions using clear and concise reporting
Supporting the commercial function to undertake technical assessment of key supply agreements for maintenance service contracts and tenders to deliver best value
Contribute to legislation Management Plans and working groups to ensure asset maintenance standards are fully aligned to statutory duties .

Experience Required
Suitable applicants will be educated to degree level in Mechanical, Electrical, Controls Engineering and will ideally have vocational training in an engineering or process discipline with a formal apprenticeship, training or NVQ level 3 qualifications.
You must be able to demonstrate relevant extensive experience on industrial plant, ideally within the water industry and have detailed knowledge of key legislation requirements with an understanding of principles of law and the practical application of statutory duties in developing maintenance and operational standards .

This role is offered on a hybrid working model with two days per week based in the office and three days per week working from home.
