Description

As part of their continued growth in the utilities sector a tier 1 civil engineering contractor is seeking to recruit a Managing Quantity Surveyor to complement their team on a £50M per annum Framework.
The role could offer an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor the opportunity to take the next step in their career and lends its self to an ambitious candidate seeking fast track progression to Commercial Manager.
The company are very much people focussed and a heavy emphasis is placed on staff welfare, professional development and training.
This role is with the water utility division and the wider group maintain a strong presence in civils, rail, and construction.
Working across the different divisions is actively encouraged and in turn means the group enjoy a lower than average rate of staff turnover.

The Role
Reporting to the Regional Commercial Manager you will be responsible for:
Providing leadership and support to junior members of the team and contractual advice and support to the operations delivery management
Reviewing Sub-contractors and engaging with and expanding the supply chain
Raising new subcontracts, monitoring and adherence to governance levels
Working closely with the Operational Lead to ensure that data is recorded accurately and identify risks and commercial opportunities. carry out sub-contact evaluations and authorising payments

Experience Required
Suitable applicants will be educated to HNC / BSc Quantity Surveying and will have no less than five years QS experience working within the civil engineering or utility sectors.
You will have a thorough understanding for NEC forms of contracts and will be able to demonstrate a stable career history gained with either within a sub or main contractor environment.
