Description

Due to an increase in allocated work and project demands on their water Framework in Kent a tier 1 civil engineering contractor are seeking to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor to complement their team. The Senior QS will manage two different work streams with a combined valued of £20M p/a one work stream is capital works projects valued at circa £8M per annum the other being planned repair and maintenance works to the network valued at around £12M, both are adminsitered under NEC terms

The company operate across the civil engineering, rail and utilities sector, they are well placed to offer ongoing work as this work stream continues to grow.

The Senior Quantity Surveyor role is being offered on a hybrid working basis with two to three days per week expected on site.


The Role
Reporting to the Commercial Manager the Senior QS will be required to support and assist with :
Management of risks and opportunities whilst building excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Working on a range of schemes under NEC terms and conditions ,typical duties will include:
Managing cost allocations
Cost and value forecasting and reporting
Identification and management of change to the contract
Management of payment applications
Supporting junior members of the Quantity Surveying team

Experience Required
Suitable Quantity Surveyors will be educated to BSc Quantity Surveying and will be able to demonstrate no less than 5 years Quantity Surveying experience gained within the civil engineering sector and or utility sectors.
A thorough working knowledge of NEC contracts is essential.
