This position offers the opportunity to join an established business, working in a fast paced environment where you support the Health and Safety team.
The Trainee Health and Safety Advisor is required to have a driving license as sites visits are an integral part of this role with some home working.
The Role
Your main purpose is to provide health and safety support to the various project teams and to monitor compliance throughout the Southeast of England. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of Health and Safety including administrative duties whilst developing their career. We need someone who is bold and independent, able to identify errors and challenge standards. Career development will be given including working closely with senior and project management to gain practical experience whilst obtaining formal qualifications to further your progression.
• Carrying out inspections and audits of our site facilities, projects ensuring high standards are maintained.
• The delivery of the company induction and other short duration training sessions, covering basic health and safety requirements.
• Championing HSE cultures, behaviours, and expectations, both internally and throughout the wider supply chain.
• Provision of support to the Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Manager in the development of company procedures and processes and maintaining ISO certification.
• Supporting our project teams in reviewing and development of risk management measures.
• The undertaking of investigations following incidents, accidents or near misses and the subsequent communications of findings to relevant personnel.
• Monitoring, analysing and reporting health and safety performance.
Qualifications/Experience required
• Able to demonstrate a positive attitude to career development.
• A pragmatic and engaging character.
• Be Competent with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other computer systems.
• Excellent written & verbal command of the English language.
• Hold a full driving license and willing to travel throughout the Southeast of England
