An opportunity has opened up with a tier one utility contractor for a Bid Writer to join their Bidding & Business Development team in North London.
The main aim of the Bid Writer is to support the Bid Manager and to assist them in developing a proposal structure.

This is a hybrid working role with a mixture of home and office/site working.

The Role

The role of the Bid Writer requires reviewing and editing previously written content where necessary, working with other bid team members to produce written bid responses and presentation collateral in line with deadlines. The role will involve writing content for use in the bid, and also presentations and all supporting documentation, ensuring a cohesive and consistent approach.

Other responsibilities of the Bid Writer also include:
-Proven ability to write effective, concise and compelling content
-Technical writing skills, displaying creative flair in submissions
-Excellent attention to detail and meticulous planning and organizational skills
-Ability to obtain accurate, high-quality information from all bid stakeholders in order to produce bid collateral
-Able to work to tight deadlines in high pressured situations associated with deadlines
-Excellent communicator with a strong command of spoken and written English
-Good communication skills (verbal and written) and able to engage with all stakeholders at all levels
-Team player with ability to help give team members the necessary skills and confidence to write and produce materials themselves
-Self-motivated. Capable of working under minimal supervision and on own initiative.
-Flexible approach to working hours
-Good IT skills
-A high attention to detail with an excellent editing and proofing ability

Experience and Qualifications required

Excellent literacy skills, with an extensive vocabulary
Deadline driven with effective time management skills
Thrive in a busy environment
Ability to multitask and prioritise workload
Experience in the required business sector
Proven bid team involvement
Can demonstrate effective bid writing skills
Good knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and database software.
Educated to degree level in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent qualification.
Bid Writers without this level of education may be considered if they can demonstrate suitable work experience.
