The Opportunity
This role sits within a water and wastewater capital project delivery team, supporting major programmes designed to keep water infrastructure resilient for the long term while protecting the environment.
As a Quantity Surveyor, you’ll play a key part in delivering commercial excellence across a large-scale water network framework in Wales. Working closely with the Managing Quantity Surveyor and client counterparts, you’ll ensure strong financial performance, efficient contract management, and effective collaboration across all project stages.
Key Responsibilities
Be an integral member of the commercial team, supporting the Managing Quantity Surveyor.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with client commercial teams.
Ensure processes are followed to manage WIP (work in progress) and cash flow within agreed business targets.
Produce and present accurate Monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs).
Manage, price, and negotiate contract changes under NEC terms.
Support tendering, pricing, and contract administration activities.
Oversee procurement and performance management of subcontractors and suppliers.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance commercial performance.
Provide productivity reporting and ensure alignment with tender and operational requirements.
What You’ll Bring
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within utilities, water, or infrastructure projects.
Strong knowledge and understanding of NEC contracts.
Excellent negotiation, analytical, and commercial management skills.
Confident communicator with strong stakeholder engagement abilities.
Good organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to changing workloads.
Experience managing subcontractors and delivering cost control on live projects.
Awareness of relevant statutory, regulatory, and company policies and procedures.
