Description
As part of their continued growth in the water sector a tier 1 civil engineering contractor have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Proposals Manager to complement their team.
Working on a five year framework the company are responsible for the devilry of a range of civil engineering projects essential to maintaining and improving clean water supply and waste water treatment facilities across Kent and Sussex.
The Role
The Proposals Manager will support and work collaboratively most of the business functions including: the design, procurement, commercial, estimating and contracts management teams
Responsibilities will include:
Coordinating with the Estimating Team at solutions development & tender stages for each project to produce project estimates to the required level of granularity to inform the Risk and Value and investment decision processes.
Managing the bid qualification process for new opportunities
Managing bid process and input from a variety of stakeholders, ensuring they are fully briefed and understanding the client bid requirements
Manage the clarification process with the client including making sure the bid team are kept fully up to date with clarifications/document changes
Development of the bid programme and process from inception through to submission and thereafter where appropriate.
Co-ordinating tender queries/amendments, assessing impacts and advising the bid team
Identification of risk and mitigation strategies
Overseeing and liaising with estimating team to manage cost planning process for tenders
Oversight of the preparation of accurate and robust Contractor's Proposals
Manage and review contract procurement and contract placements
Experience Required
Suitable applicants will be educated to HND or BSc Civil engineering or in a related discipline and will be able to demonstrate a clear
understanding of Engineering Principles .
Knowledge and Understanding of construction contract law and forms of contract through experience and formal training is essential
Extensive technical knowledge of construction techniques and best practices.
